Fees & Insurance

Delicate white blossoms blooming on a slender tree branch.

Fees

Initial consultation (15 minutes, by phone): free

Initial intake session (60 minutes): $175

Subsequent sessions (50 minutes): $150

Insurance I'm in-network with

I accept a variety of insurance plans to make care accessible and convenient. They include:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (PPO)
  • Blue Choice
  • UnitedHealthcare (UHC)
  • Cigna
  • Aetna (PPO)
  • Aetna Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Aetna Better Health (Medicaid)
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Community (Medicaid)

Your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your

plan's deductible, copay, and coinsurance — I'm happy to help you figure that out

before we start.

Out-of-network and private-pay

If you have insurance I'm not in-network with, I can provide a superbill for you to

submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse a meaningful

percentage of out-of-network mental health care. I can help you understand what to ask

your insurance.

Some clients choose private-pay even when they have in-network coverage. The most

common reasons:

  • Privacy. Insurance requires a diagnosis on your medical record. Private-pay
  • doesn't.
  • No session caps or treatment-plan dictates. Insurance often limits what we can
  • do and for how long. Private-pay doesn't.
  • More flexibility. Longer sessions, intensives, and certain trauma protocols are easier to do off-insurance.
  • If cost is a barrier and you're a strong fit for what I do, please reach out. I keep a small number of reduced-fee slots and will tell you honestly whether one is currently open.

Cancellation policy

I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours'

notice or missed entirely are charged the full session fee, which insurance does not

cover.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected

charges. I provide this to all private-pay clients before we begin.
