Trauma doesn't always look like what you'd expect.
Sometimes it looks like a single moment that won't stop replaying — the call you got,
the room you walked into, the day everything changed. Sometimes it looks like a
childhood you've already "dealt with" but that keeps reaching forward into your adult
relationships. Sometimes it looks like nothing at all to anyone outside your head. You
function. You succeed. You also can't sleep without checking the locks twice and your
body still flinches at things you can't quite name.
